The Ceremony
The setup was simple and considered. A raw timber arch dressed with blush roses, white lisianthus and trailing greenery. White petals down the aisle. Black bentwood chairs on either side. The ocean sitting right behind it all, flat and blue in the afternoon light.
Andrew waited at the front. Carlie came through the gardens on her dad’s arm and from the look on Andrew’s face when he saw her, the whole day was already complete.
Celebrant Jacqueline Grey led a handfasting ceremony. Carlie and Andrew joined hands and the ribbons were wrapped around their wrists. After the Ceremony
Family portraits followed in the gardens, then champagne and nibbles while the light kept softening. By the time Carlie and Andrew headed to the beach it was nearly golden hour and Noosa Main Beach delivered exactly what it always does at that time of day.
The two of them on the rocks with the turquoise water behind them. Foreheads together. Her dress moving in the breeze. Nobody directing anything.
