Noosa Hinterland wedding photography has a quality that is entirely its own. The light through the old fig trees. The open paddocks stretching to the tree line. The sense of being far enough from town that the day belongs entirely to the people in it. This private estate wedding had all of that and then some.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was held on the lawn of a private estate in the Noosa Hinterland with a simple white arch dressed in draped fabric and the property’s grand old trees providing natural shade and framing on either side. White chairs in neat rows, bright tropical bouquets of hot pink, yellow and coral, and a couple who were so visibly happy to be there that very little direction was needed at any point.
The bride walked in on her father’s arm. The groom watched her come and that was the whole ceremony in one frame before a word had been spoken.
The Celebration
After the ceremony the group gathered under the trees with drinks and canapes while the light kept doing what hinterland light does in the late afternoon. Long and golden and coming in at an angle that turns everything warm. The bridal party threw their arms up for the group shot and someone jumped. It went in.
The Portraits
The property offered something rare in wedding photography. Wide open space, old trees, fencing, paddocks and that light. The couple wandered the grounds as the sun dropped and the sky went from gold to amber to the last thin line of orange on the horizon. Two people in a paddock at golden hour with the reception marquee glowing soft in the background. The bride walking alone toward the light. The two of them forehead to forehead as the sun came through the branches directly behind them.
