Noosa Photography Co ~ Commissioned Portrait Photographer Noosa
As a commissioned portrait photographer in Noosa, the work that means the most is rarely the work that can be shown publicly. This project is one of those.
Collaborating with Dr Jandamarra Cadd was a cultural and creative honour. Jandamarra is a Yorta Yorta man from Victoria who works on the Sunshine Coast as an artist and art teacher. This private commission was connected to a significant body of work rooted in sacred women’s business and it required something beyond technical skill. It required trust, sensitivity, intuition and a complete willingness to follow rather than lead.
Every part of the process, from the first conversation to the final image, was approached with care. The environment, the flow of the session and the final photographs all needed to align with the deeper meaning of the project. As the photographer, the role was to listen, to hold space and to capture what was already there rather than impose any external vision onto something so personal and so significant.
The actual images from Jandamarra’s session remain private. These are not from his session. The landscapes here are offered simply as a sense of place, of country, of the natural world that underpins work like this. That is exactly as it should be.

What Dr Jandamarra Cadd Said
“Noosa Photography Co was a very positive experience from start to finish and all in between. The direct open communication and professionalism that accompanied every interaction was wonderful. The results are absolutely beautiful and amazing. Everything from the lighting to the naturalness of the poses. Everything. And there is a whole series there. Noosa Photography Co is magic and amazing at what they do and has contributed to something that will be very powerful medicine for our community locally, nationally and globally. So very honoured for the work and grateful for the care and love imbued into these photographs. Without hesitation I would definitely recommend Noosa Photography Co and if the opportunity arises I would really enjoy working together again.”

Working with Intention
Not all photography is meant for public consumption and not all commissions look the same. Some projects are deeply personal. Some are culturally significant. Some exist entirely outside the commercial world of weddings and family portraits and require a completely different approach.
Noosa Photography Co welcomes commissions of this nature. Whether the project is creative, cultural, personal or community based, every session is approached with the same commitment to listening, respecting boundaries and honouring the significance of the story being shared.
If you have a project that requires a photographer you can trust with something meaningful and private, the conversation starts here.

Commissioned Portrait Photographer Noosa ~ Frequently Asked Questions
What is a commissioned portrait session? A commissioned portrait session is a private photography project created to a specific brief. It may be for an artist, a creative project, a personal milestone, a cultural body of work or any purpose that requires professional photography outside of a standard portrait or event package. Noosa Photography Co works with individuals, artists and organisations on commissions of all kinds.
Can Noosa Photography Co work on culturally sensitive projects? Yes. Sensitivity, discretion and respect are at the core of every session. For projects connected to cultural, sacred or deeply personal subject matter, the approach is always to listen first, follow the lead of the people involved and ensure the process feels safe and considered at every stage.
Are commissioned sessions kept private? Absolutely. Client confidentiality is taken seriously and no images or details from a private commission will ever be shared publicly without explicit permission from the client. Some of the most meaningful work never appears in the public portfolio and that is completely fine.
